BOARDS COMMITTEES WEB GRAPHIC

Why do citizens volunteer to serve on boards or committees?

The reasons people volunteer for service are as varied as the people themselves.
Some of the most common reasons include:

  • Fulfilling a civic responsibility
  • Desire to be involved and give something back to the community
  • A desire to help shape policy
  • Desire to donate one’s professional skills.

The City of Spring Hill is seeking the volunteer spirit within the residents of our diverse community (over the age of 18) to serve on various Boards and Commissions. Before applying to a Board, please click on the Board’s link to the left in the navigation bar to familiarize yourself with its role and responsibilities, and to see a list of current members. We suggest you attend a meeting or two of the Board or Committee you are applying for to get acquainted with how things work. And unless otherwise specified, the public is welcome to attend all meetings.

If you are interested in applying to serve on a City Board, fill it out online here and submit it to the City Recorder.
