Paid Holidays
All active full-time employees, both regular and introductory, will receive the following 13 paid holidays:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- President's Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Friday after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
Vacation
Regular full-time employees will earn two weeks of vacation per year, accruing 6.667 hours of vacation leave for each month of service.
Upon completion of employee’s fourth year of employment until the completion of the employee’s ninth year of service, they will accrue three weeks of vacation (at a rate of 10 hours per month).
Upon completion of the employee’s ninth year of employment, he or she will begin to accrue four weeks of leave (13.334 hours of vacation per month).
Sick Leave
All active full-time employees, both regular and introductory, will accrue sick leave monthly at the rate of one working day for each completed month of service.
Bereavement Leave
Regardless of length of employment, regular and introductory full-time active employees will be allowed up to three days’ leave in the event of the death of an immediate family member (spouse, son/daughter, father/mother, or others consistent with the intent of this policy). For deaths of other relatives, one day will be allowed.
Medical Insurance
Medical benefits are available to all full-time employees. The City pays the total premium cost for health insurance for some employee-only and employee-plus-dependent coverages.
Multiple coverage options are available through Cigna and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
Vision Care
Vision benefits are available to all full-time employees.
Multiple coverage options are available through EyeMed.
Dental Care
Dental benefits are available to all full-time employees. The premium cost for basic dental coverage for employee-only coverage is fully paid by the City. If an employee elects dependent coverage, he/she will pay the difference between the employee-only coverage and dependent coverage using pre-tax dollars.
Coverage options are available through Cigna and Delta Dental.
Life Insurance
All full-time employees have a $25,000 life insurance policy paid for by the City. This policy provides an additional $25,000 if the employee’s death is the result of an accident.
Additional term life insurance is available through Cigna/New York Life.
Short-term Disability
Short-term disability benefits are available for employees through Cigna/New York Life.
Long-term Disability
Long-term disability benefits are available for employees through Cigna/New York Life and are fully paid for by the City.
Supplemental Insurance
Several different types of supplemental insurance programs are available for purchase by employees through payroll deduction. These programs presently include, but are not limited to, accident insurance, cancer insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and whole and term life insurance.
Pension Plan
The City participates in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS). The plan is contributory, meaning employees make a 5% direct contribution to the plan. The City makes contributions to the TCRS on the employee’s behalf.
Employees become vested after five years of full-time employment and will be eligible for benefits upon retirement based on their age, number of years of employment, and the average of the employee’s five highest consecutive years of salary.
Williamson County Rec Center Membership
Full-time employees are eligible for discounted memberships at Williamson County Rec Centers.
Credit Union Membership
City employees have the opportunity to be affiliated with the Family Advantage Credit Union, Ascend Credit Union, and Fifth Third Bank.
Tuition Reimbursement Program
Full-time employees with 18+ months tenure, and who are in good standing, may qualify for up to $5,000 annually for tuition reimbursement for current college coursework.
Adoption Reimbursement Benefit Program
All active, full-time Employees with 18+ months of employment and in good standing with the City of Spring Hill are eligible for adoption reimbursement benefits. Eligible adoption-related expenses will be reimbursed at a maximum of $8,000 per adopted child.
Service Awards
The City values and recognizes continued loyalty and service to the City. In appreciation for regular full-time employees’ years of service, the city will provide an appropriate gift to those employees who have met their five, ten-, fifteen-, twenty-, and twenty-five-year anniversaries.
