Maury Alliance Announces Maury County Economic Recovery Task Force

Spring HIll

Columbia, Tn (May 1, 2020) – Maury Alliance, in coordination with Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles, Columbia Mayor, Chaz Molder, Spring Hill Mayor Rick Graham and Mt. Pleasant Mayor Bill White, announced the recent formation of a local economic recovery task force. Over the last several weeks, this task force has met (virtually) in an effort to be proactive with the guidelines being passed down by Governor Bill Lee’s Economic Recovery Group, and to remain at the forefront of helping local business navigate their reopening, restart and rejuvenation.

Simultaneous with the announcement of the task force, a “Maury County Is Open For Business” Road Map was released which will help guide local businesses and consumers regarding the current status of re-openings for local businesses, with additional information and background also being provided.

The announcement of this task force by the Maury Alliance follows a recent announcement by the Alliance of the Maury County Small Business Stabilization Fund which has been created to offer additional relief to local businesses in Maury County in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“From the beginning of this pandemic, information has been coming out at a record pace and constantly evolving. The number one frustration we heard from the business community all along has been the uncertainty of which governing body to listen to. As the Tennessee Pledge began to be released by the state, we knew it was imperative that the messaging coming from the State, Maury County, Columbia, Spring Hill and Mt. Pleasant was uniform and consistent in order to prevent additional confusion,” said Maury Alliance President Will Evans. Evans went on to say, “I am confident that I am speaking for the entire task force by saying: We want all businesses in Maury County to know that we support you as you begin to open your doors and we encourage everyone to follow the guidelines presented in the Tennessee Pledge.”

The members of the Maury County Economic Recovery Taskforce are: Maury Alliance President Wil Evans, Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles, City of Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder, Spring Hill Mayor Rick Graham, Mt. Pleasant Mayor Bill White, Spring Hill Chamber Executive Director Rebecca Melton and Maury Regional Health CEO Alan Watson; along with Maury Alliance Board Members, Chair Robyn Graham, Treasurer Chad Williams, Chair Elect Kelley McCall, Past Chair Jim Robinson, Economic Development Chair Russ Adcox and Chamber Council Chair Julie Heffington.
