There will be another water shut off this Thursday night 4/23/20 (10pm) until Friday morning 4/24/20 (6am) in the area of McCormick Creek on Beechcroft Road. This is to tie-in the new water line on the TDOT improvement project in this area. Residents that are affected will be notified today by the City’s water distribution department with door hangers.
When the affected citizens first turn their faucets on after the water is back on, they may experience white water (air bubbles in the line – not harmful at all) or stuttering of the water as the air is pushed out of the pipes. This is completely normal and will not have a negative effect on their pipes in their house or the main lines. In an attempt to prevent this, the lines will be flushed by City staff after the tie in is complete but it is not 100% guaranteed to push all the air out of the lines.
This will not require any lane closures.
