Public invited to comment on Unified Development Code draft

Unified Development Code

The public is invited to comment on the latest draft of the Unified Development Code (UDC). A lot of work has been done over the past 16 months to combine and update the City of Spring Hill's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances with the goal of helping to better preserve and protect historic development patterns while creating new opportunities for economic development.
Our City’s first zoning ordinance was adopted in 1987. Spring Hill’s development is far more sophisticated and diverse today than it was 30 years ago, and our zoning and development rules should reflect that. The intent of the UDC is to make Spring Hill a more resilient, livable and business-friendly community.

The UDC Draft has been posted to the UDC project website,, and is available both through a link on the home page and on the Documents section of the site. Information about next month’s public open houses is also on the Upcoming Events page. We hope you'll take the time to participate in this important process to help make Spring Hill a better place to live.

Each of the open houses will feature a brief presentation that provides an overview of the new UDC. The presentation will be given twice at the events on both a Thursday and Friday, and once on Saturday. Open houses will be in the Spring Hill City Hall Courtroom, 199 Town Center Parkway as follows:
- Thursday, Feb. 8: 5:30-8:30 p.m.; presentations at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Feb. 9: 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; presentations at 8 a.m. and Noon
- Saturday, Feb. 10: 9 a.m. to Noon; presentation at 10 a.m.
Special Called Planning Commission meetings planned for the City Hall Conference Room to discuss the UDC.
- Wednesday, Feb 28: 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, March 1: 5:30-8:30 p.m.
