Two U.S. Navy enlistees, Montrell R. Evans and Harley Ann Rawson were honored by Spring Hill’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen this week. You’ve seen their official pictures on banners flown near City Hall. Those banners were retired (to make way for more honorees) and presented to them and their families by Mayor Jim Hagaman during a regular meeting Monday night. Evans is serving his second tour of duty in Norfolk, VA. He was first on the USS George Washington and is now on the George H. W. Bush carrier. An E5 operations specialist, Montrell has been at sea six times. Rawson is a boatswain’s mate stationed in San Diego with Assault Craft Unit 1. She is a loadmaster in charge of the deck, training loadmasters, and running medical drills. She is also a damage control petty officer. She intends to reenlist this summer, after serving five years.
