Results from recycling audit are not looking good

FacebookCity Website

Staff from Public Works has spent time doing a recycle cart audit this week to try to identify the primary cause(s) of recycling contamination. Of the 400+ carts that were tagged, 80% of the carts were pulled because they had plastic bags in them. Please remember that plastic bags, including trash bags, are NOT recyclable and create problems with the Materials Recycling Facility taking our recyclable materials. Please leave your recyclables loose in the bin and do not bag them in plastic.
