On Monday, June 3, 2024, the Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) voted unanimously to approve Ordinances 24-09 and 24-10 on their second readings — adopting water and sewer development charge increases for the upcoming fiscal year.
The ordinances were first brought to a vote during the May 20, 2024 BOMA meeting.
The charge increases come following months of in-depth rate studies conducted by Raftelis, in partnership with City Staff. The studies found that the development charges should be adjusted in order to cover operational costs incurred by the water and sewer systems.
It was also determined these increases are in the best interest of the City of Spring Hill and its residents. These are the first water and sewer development charge increases in Spring Hill since 2019.
In both the water and sewer scenarios, it was determined the rates should be adjusted in a phased, multi-year plan.
