Fines
The maximum fine for Class C misdemeanor traffic violations and City Code/Ordinance violations in Tennessee Municipal Courts is $50 per violation. However, please note that City Code/Ordinance violations that are continuing in nature (occur for more than a 24-hour period of time) may incur up to a $50 fine per day for as long as the violation of law continues.
Fees
Litigants are granted one complimentary continuance of their matter without incurring any fee.
Costs
In addition to any specific fine for each cited violation of law on a citation, the citation itself is subject to the imposition of court costs and litigation taxes or a cash bond forfeiture fee, as determined by state law and the Spring Hill Municipal Code/Ordinances. Ordinary court costs is $75 per citation, litigation taxes are $ 13.75 per citation, and the cash bond forfeiture fee is $13.75 per citation.
Fines, fees, and costs that remain unpaid will be turned over to a collection agency by the City of Spring Hill. If you have questions about this procedure, please contact the Deputy Court Clerk at (931) 486-2252, ext. 243.
