The Spring Hill Police Department is once again sponsoring the ‘Giving Tree‘ in partnership with Spring Hill Fresh. SHPD has sponsored a gift-giving event every year to help ensure Christmas gifts for hundreds of local needy, elementary school children who might not have anything under the tree otherwise. This year, the focus of the ‘Giving Tree‘ will expanded to also help local Veterans and elderly who have been identified as needing some help this Christmas! Each year they have served approximately 100 children with the help of our community, local businesses and civic organizations donating gifts and money. You and/or your business can sponsor a child, military veteran, or senior by signing up for a gift on the online Giving Tree sign-up sheet found at the link below. We will continue to add to this list up until our cut-off date.

The fun and festive parade, presented by Spring Hill Parks & Rec. and Kiwanis Spring Hill & Thompson’s Station, will start at 5:30 p.m. Restaurants will be open along the parade route along with food trucks in front of the TN Children’s Home on Main St. There will be live holiday musical performances on the front porch and lawn of historic Ferguson Hall at the Children’s Home, 2-5 p.m. This year, the Tree Lighting Ceremony has been incorporated into the day of parade activities, rather than a separate lighting event at Port Royal Park, as the tree will be more visible on the front lawn of the Children’s Home. The lighting ceremony begins at 4:20 p.m. and we’ll officially turn on the lights at 5 p.m. to the sounds of beautiful holiday music and a “100 percent chance of snow!” Then find a good spot along Main Street to put down a blanket or chair and enjoy the parade starting at 5:30 p.m. For parade details and a full list of performers, visit the "Christmas Parade Info" link below.

Enjoy a first-class holiday show without the drive. Grand Ole Opry vocalist and performer Ross Moore will lead us in holiday songs interspersed with stories and humor. Ross plays 12 different acoustic instruments including the hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, auto-harp, banjo, dobro, and 12-string guitar, so it’ll be a show not to miss.
