Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Spring Hill -Thompson's Station Foundation, the race benefits Partners 4 Parks. All events held on dirt road/pavement (rolling course).
The Grey Ghost is named for Gen. John Bell Hood, commander of troops stationed in Spring Hill (at Oaklawn Plantation) during the U.S. Civil War and charged with not allowing the Union forces to get north to Franklin and eventually Nashville.
This race was the vision of a small group of local residents determined to put on a fitness focused event for local families while raising money for children's charities.
The Grey Ghost 5K is a certified 3.1-mile out-and-back country course on hilly and scenic Denning Lane.
The Goblin Gallop includes two kids runs held on the dirt road around the home and on the front drive. Ages 3-5 can sign up for the Goblin Gallop 1/2K (which equals 1/3 mile), and ages 5-12 can sign up for the 1K (which equals 2/3 mile).
