Picture parents of disabled children watching them laugh on carousel rides, petting sheep, and playing carnival games.   8. Book Signing: Rosemary Fisher presents, The Smokin’ “HOT” Bride of Christ

    “The Smokin’ “HOT” Bride of Christ” was written for those interested in learning biblical truths on the importance of exchanging any regrets now for future rewards and to take a personal inventory of one’s life where they will no longer doubt their eternal salvation. Local resident Rosemary Fisher is a wife, mom, author, Freedom Coach, and non-denominational national conference speaker. Books will be available for purchase at $5 (usually $6.33).

    Having trouble learning how to play your guitar? Bring it to Firey Music for Guitar 101! Learn the very basics of your instrument from our staff of trained musicians as they help you enjoy music in a laid back, comfortable and fun environment. From electric to acoustic, from any manufacturer, any and all guitars are welcome. Firey Music invites everyone to come learn with us. You’ll learn tech tips on tuning and maintaining your guitar as well as the basic mechanics of your instrument from Fiery Music’s staff. Instructors will be on hand to answer questions about one on one private in store lessons to accelerate your playing skill level. Also get a free evaluation of your instrument from Firey's skilled guitar techs. This workshop is completely free and open to the public. All you'll need to do is bring your guitar with you to the class.

  31. Art Class with Kim Napier: Faux Batik

    Kim will show you a simple variation on the 2,000 year old craft of batik. Instead of hot wax on fabric for unique designs after it is dipped in dye, she will mimic the process with a flour and water paste and she’ll use paint instead of dye. It is simple enough for preschoolers and invigorating enough for any adults. Talent is not required ... only a little adventure. The class will not be hands-on as drying time is needed, but Kim will show the process at different stages and bring samples for inspiration.   33. Oliver Twist performed by The Hampstead Stage Company

    Live Theater at its best – this touring company comes to us from New Hampshire. Come see a Dickens’ classic about a young orphan, Oliver, who overcomes great hardships in Victorian London. It is a coming-of-age tale about survival and friendship. Through this play, we hope to encourage the children to rise above insurmountable odds and help those around them. Oliver Twist has humor and pathos that guarantee to both educate and entertain.

  34. Home Town Honor: the Civil War Battles of Spring Hill & Thompson Station

    November 24, All Day @ Spring Hill Public Library

    Tom Meadows loves to talk about history; he was a history teacher for 27 years, now retired, and a reenactor for the last 15 years. He also travels all over the country giving talks, especially about the Civil War. Just days before the commencement of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Spring Hill, to take place at Rippavilla Plantation on Saturday, November 29, Tom will be at the Spring Hill Public Library at 5:30 p.m., Monday, November 24, telling the pivotal stories of what happened here in Spring Hill and Thompson Station during the Civil War. He will also have his weapons and artifact collection on display.
