  3. Personal Protection for Teenagers Class

    September 30, 2018, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Tennessee Children’s Home Heron Center

This class is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station. The 5-hour class consists of a 1.5-hour class presentation with a question-and-answer period. It includes topics such as situational awareness, the dangers of social media, the predator mindset, and non-lethal forms of self-protection. The remaining time will be spent practicing lifesaving skills and techniques which are easy to learn and require no additional equipment. Physical training includes learning various strikes and kicks, vocal commands, grab releases and basic ground fighting. Dynamic training gives students the opportunity to ”fight for their life” against a predator in a padded suit. Students should dress in comfortable, athletic clothes that allow for freedom of movement. A parent or legal guardian MUST sign a liability waiver prior to participation in the class. Due to limited space, please make every effort to attend if you register or contact us to cancel your registration.
