After more than a decade in the making, the project to widen Duplex Road (State Route 247) to three lanes and make it safer for motorists and pedestrians is now starting the construction phase.
An official project start date has not yet been set due to some remaining utilities still to be relocated. However, surveyors with Wilson & Associates may be doing some preliminary work along Duplex Road construction easements. They will be in company-marked vehicles.
If you still have questions about the project or would simply like to get an overview and update, there will be a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive, in Spring Hill.
City of Spring Hill staff and officials; Williamson County Commissioner David Pair; representatives from Eutaw Construction, the contractor for the project; and representatives from the TN Department of Transportation (TDOT) will provide information about the project and discuss:
- An overview/history of the project
- Construction schedule, including estimated start/completion dates and planned phases
- What residents and business owners should expect during the construction process
- Audience Q&A
