Williamson County Commissioner David Pair will host a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Longview Recreation Center, to offer an "Update on the 2016 Property Reappraisal" Process. The Williamson County property assessor conducts a mass reappraisal on every parcel in the county every five years to maintain equalization and ensure appraised values reflect the current market. Property owners are expected to receive notice of their property's new appraised value in May 2016.
County Property Assessor Brad Coleman and County Trustee Karen Paris will be at the meeting to explain the process and answer questions. The meeting will highlight the role and responsibility of the county property assessor and county trustee; what to expect from the 2016 reappraisal; an overview of the tax relief and tax freeze programs; and a public Q&A session
